Morning, friends! I think I conveniently forgot to mention that my first training session on Friday went great! I was able to get a good baseline and do some basic workouts but I warned her that I’d be kicking her butt soon enough.. she’s in for it this week 😉

Yesterday was another whirlwind of a day; I got a great workout in, went to work, and had just enough time to shove a monster salad in my face before heading to a meeting with the owner of Truve and a few other trainers. Lots of goal-setting was done and plans of attack were made. I’m really looking forward to getting my training career up and running. If you’re in the bay area and looking for a trainer, hit. me. up! Back to normal! Nathan’s home and I have to admit, it was really strange to be here without him for 4 days [we’re not actually attached at the hip ;)]. I certainly kept busy but it’s nice to have him back!

Tonight I’m headed into the city for a free Barry’s Bootcamp class thanks to ClassPass [. I’ve never been to Barry’s Bootcamp but I’m psyched; I’m thinking that’s definitely my kind of workout. I’ve heard really great things and I’m really glad I have the opportunity to check it out with ClassPass but I’m a little scared the workout might kill me ha! I’ll report back though.. it’ll be good to mix it up.

After a weekend off from workouts, I was ready to hit the gym yesterday. To be honest, my legs were still sore from Friday’s workout [say what?!] but I knew I was ready to get them moving again. It was a little rough, but damn, it felt good. The sunburn, however, is still not my friend and still looking a little too purple for my liking. Lesson. Learned. Seriously.

I’m seriously a lightweight when it comes to waking up crazy early now. I guess I’m not really expected to have a ton of energy waking up at 4am when I couldn’t fall asleep till midnight, but I passed the heck out after work yesterday! It took everything I had to make myself lunch when I got home and keep my eyes open long enough for a conference call but once I hung up, it was lights out. Or really, zonked out on the couch. At least the 5am shifts are only once a month.

Hot diggity! Yesterday was a whirlwind with lots of good things coming soon. It looks like things are starting to fall into place around here and I’ll really be getting into a good routine. I’m busy running around like a crazy person getting everything together for visitors this week.. I even hung up a shelf yesterday! Side note: I’m really bad at hanging things. I’m digging it now that Nathan helped me re-hang it in the right spot. Ha!

On Sunday I made some big plans and I can’t believe I forgot to mention them yesterday. I made reservations for our first anniversary getaway!

Nathan and I had been talking about a wine country getaway and when a deal popped up on Travelzoo for the same place we stayed back in 2012, we jumped. This place is an “Inn” as opposed to a hotel so it had a much more cozy feeling. Their food was fabulous—breakfast, happy hour, and dinner—and it also doesn’t hurt that they give you a bottle of wine in the room, winery tours, tastings, & pairings included, and a discount on dinner at their restaurant. Wine country won’t know what hit ’em! Only 8 weeks to go..
